About the Role

Under indirect supervision, this position is responsible for the daily maintenance operation of the site. Manage the day-to-day operations of 3 or more employees to ensure maintenance schedules are met in an efficient, safe, and employee-oriented manner.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform daily system maintenance and repair of applicable operations.
  • Ensure adherence to Company training programs.
  • Direct supervision of all daily assignments, including scheduling and supervising mechanics and/or technicians in ground support equipment, facilities, boarding bridge, and/or baggage handling areas.
  • Review and monitor personnel assignments, including issuing and completing work orders.
  • Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and overhauls with airport and airline staff to minimize customer downtime.
  • Coordinate and manage the daily preventive maintenance program.
  • Assist with budgeting and finances at the site, if required.
  • Manage parts inventory, if required.
  • Resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain daily turnover reports.
  • Promote quality work, zero defects, and continuous improvement among employees.
  • Train, develop, and motivate maintenance site personnel toward achieving Company objectives.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and disciplinary actions.
  • Work according to Company regulations, procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain professionalism in appearance, manner, and communications.
  • Monitor and ensure conformity with the Company’s Quality program.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, local, and Company safety laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate safety matters with the Company Safety Officer.
  • Maintain site morale and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform additional duties as required by management.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 years’ experience in a related trade.
  • Ability to read and understand basic electrical/hydraulic schematics.
  • Must have own set of hand tools common to the trade.
  • Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in a related field.
  • Previous work experience in an Airport environment.
  • Strong hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting experience.
  • State and/or ASE certification in automotive and diesel repair or associated field.
  • 5+ years’ experience directly related to the applicable position (e.g., GSE, conveyor, bridge).
  • 4+ years’ direct experience in a GSE Airport shop environment.
  • 3+ years’ experience working in a CMMS.
  • 3+ years’ experience in mentoring, guiding, and directing employees.
  • 3+ years’ experience in leadership in a related field.
  • Knowledge of general workplace safety requirements and procedures.
  • Supervisory experience in an Airport environment.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification.

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy.
  • Must comply with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy.

Work Environment

Varies between an office environment and all areas located on Airport property. May be exposed to dust, dirt, and noise levels below OSHA minimum requirements.

USD $92,500.00
