Supervisor-AMRP

Peak Utility Infrastructure is an integrated engineering and construction company that serves the Electric, Natural Gas, and Telecommunications industries. We provide a full suite of engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance services, including repair, replacement, maintenance, and installation of natural gas, telecommunications, and electric infrastructure through our operating subsidiaries: SiteWise, Kelly Cable, Riley Brothers, 5 Star Electric, Superior Hydrovac, and Superior Pipeline Services.

About the role

The Supervisor I - Operations should have extensive knowledge of underground utility construction operations including equipment used, labor skills, safe digging operations, and OSHA requirements. This role will directly supervise field construction crews, planning, directing, and organizing their day-to-day operations while overseeing underground fiber and utility installation projects of various sizes and scopes.

Travel: 10-25%.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute the day-to-day operations of the departments under supervision.
• Optimize and actively manage the work hours of employees and company assets.
• Proactively manage the business and provide feedback to the Superintendent of Engineering on critical issues.
• Ensure the safety, quality, training, and standards of the company and each individual client are met.
• Perform weekly audits on each crew, conducting multiple audits each week.
• Maintain a clear understanding and working knowledge of the financial statements of the department, identifying and implementing improvements for profitability.
• Inspect equipment and tools daily for each crew to ensure proper walk-around is performed.
• Complete all necessary paperwork required by the company and clients daily.
• Integrate the organization’s business plan, goals, and action items, including cost management and profitability through day-to-day decisions and communication.
• Develop leadership, select and maintain a multi-functional, diversified, well-trained, motivated, and empowered workforce.
• Provide leadership for a workforce of approximately 2 to 4 Foreman/crew leads and 2 to 4 crews comprised of 6-12 employees.
• Administer compliance of fleet policies and procedures; optimize vehicle utilization and minimize life cycle cost.
• Order and track all materials and supplies needed for day-to-day tasks.
• Keep the yard/material storage areas clear and organized daily.
• Participate in industry/professional forums to stay abreast of industry direction and new technologies.
• Deliver continuous improvement in productivity, safety, quality, and cost.
• Mentor, coach, and discipline department employees to improve performance and prepare them for additional responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Five (5+) plus years of construction experience is required.
• Three (3+) plus years of dry utility (gas) industry experience is preferred.
• One (1+) plus years of management experience is preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
• Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and a pre-employment drug screen.

Pay

$100,000 - $120,000 per year, DOE.
