Supervisor - 2nd shift

Responsibilities

• Help oversee production activities
• Support the day-to-day production process to ensure efficiency and staff meeting production goals
• Supply for the team and cover shifts as needed
• Solve problems promptly and accurately
• Train employees in a refrigerated environment
• Print labels, operate machinery, and plan staff schedules
• Report plant machinery breakdowns to maintenance technicians and supervisors
• Engage and motivate production team members, monitor quality control, and productivity standards
• Spot inconsistencies in slice thickness, weights, bacon quality, firmness, or tempering
• Stand for long periods (8 to 12 hours)
• Push/pull levered weight carts weighing between 25 to 1,500 lbs. with a pallet jack or electric jack if certified
• Set up supplies in the packer and slicer, verify correct date and program loading, and ensure compliance with production schedule
• Maintain proper give-away levels and adhere to high-quality standards
• Work safely, multitask, enforce policies and procedures, and issue accountability when necessary
• Show good observation skills to detect production issues and maintain concentration for repetitive tasks
• Show accuracy, attention to detail, and strong teamwork skills; work independently and adapt to rotating schedules
• Keep CPQ checks and metal detector records on time
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment
• Identify and address training and cross-training needs
• Be flexible to work in various departments and locations
• Understand health, safety, and basic hygiene rules

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
• Ability to follow instructions and solve problems
• Training in fast-paced refrigerated environments
• Experience operating machinery and planning staff schedules
• Good observational skills and ability to maintain focus
• Strong teamwork and flexibility skills
• Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene regulations
