About the Role
The Facilities Lab Services Operations Manager for Gas and Chemical systems supports equipment and systems that provide process gases and chemicals to semiconductor lab equipment.
Responsibilities
- Program management of contracted operations teams and maintenance service providers.
- Accountable for service provider performance, including oversight of onsite leadership responsible for day-to-day operations, maintenance execution, and personnel performance.
- Accountable for the safe and reliable operation and maintenance of gas, liquid chemical, and solid chemical supply and distribution systems.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, purchase orders, invoices, and spending for labor, materials, spare parts, and emergency repairs.
- Serve as a key contact for internal customers, escalations, and nonstandard support requests.
- Develop and improve operating procedures, documentation, and business processes.
- Drive continuous improvement of processes and procedures, including incorporation of learning from other Lam sites and semiconductor industry best practices.
- Responsible for key performance indicator (KPI) reporting for budget, on-time work order completion, in-spec system operation, and interruptions to lab experiments/production.
- Lead and participate in incident/event reporting and root cause analysis for systems of responsibility.
- Support design reviews, equipment upgrades, and infrastructure changes for systems within scope.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards for hazardous gas and chemical systems.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 8+ years of experience in semiconductor operations, facilities, sub-fab, or direct support equipment environments.
- 3+ years of experience leading contractors, service providers, or maintenance teams.
- Experience with gas and chemical distribution systems, including specialty gas cabinets, VMBs, bulk gas systems, and chemical delivery units.
- Knowledge of safe operations, maintenance practices, and compliance requirements for hazardous gas and chemical systems.
- Strong skills in budgeting, performance tracking, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Domestic and international travel may be required.
Pay
Salary range for this position in the California, San Francisco Bay Area: $92,000 - $211,000. Salary offers depend on factors including location, level, education, training, specific skills, and years of experience.
