About the role

The Supervising Tax Auditor (STA) III (Audit Principal) is responsible for the administration of the audit program in the field offices. This includes planning, organizing, and directing audit programs through subordinate supervisors and providing guidance to field office supervisors. Additionally, the incumbent fosters cooperation and integrates functions between audit and compliance staff.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, and directs the audit programs in field offices.
  • Provides guidance to field office supervisors regarding audit programs.
  • Fosters cooperation and integrates functions between audit and compliance staff.
  • Attends meetings and training sessions.
  • May require travel up to 40% of the time, which may include overnight stays.

Requirements

This position requires employees to be fingerprinted and successfully pass a background investigation. Travel required forty percent (40%) of the time.

Qualifications

Must have a permanent civil service appointment with CDTFA, or be a current or former employee of the legislature for 2 or more years, or a current or former non-elected exempt employee of the executive branch for 2 or more consecutive years, or be a person retired from the United States military with a service disability or honorable discharge.

SkillsStrong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are required.

$9,750.00 - $12,813.00
