About the role

We are seeking an individual who can balance billable contributions with daily team supervision and has the passion to develop a team of engineers and/or technicians with increasing capabilities for delivering a breadth of support and project delivery focused on customer outcomes.

This role involves onboarding, operational supervision, service quality assurance, and commercial support in collaboration with the department manager, Account Managers, and Customer Success. As the Lifecycle Solutions Engineering Supervisor, you will focus on lifecycle contract delivery and associated “expand” OpEx projects while providing coaching to direct reports and navigating cross-functional teams for a total solution. This role is based in Clifton Park, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight of all work performed by direct reports.
  • Engage in direct reports’ service delivery and projects to ensure high quality, acceptable cost, timely schedules, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support resource management by working with IT/OT Managers, Project Management, and Sales to fill engineering needs for contract services and MRO lifecycle projects, using internal candidates or contractors as appropriate.
  • Work with IT/OT department leadership to understand and provide skills and manpower forecasts for project demands in the 1–3 year timeframe.
  • Develop the competencies of the IT/OT team through individual development plans and establish career paths in conjunction with the IT/OT Manager/Director.
  • Manage day-to-day service calls and scheduled maintenance for New England and/or New York customers, with support from IT/OT Contracts Coordinators and the department Manager.
  • Collaborate with the PMO on resource scheduling for projects requiring IT/OT engineering support.
  • Participate in and/or lead the roll-up of services and project proposals to set appropriate expectations during project bidding.
  • Engage in customer automation system life planning consultations to drive project opportunities or other growth initiatives while ensuring customer technology adoption and realized value.
  • Ensure direct reports follow all quality and safety procedures, as well as NECI procedures (e.g., time entry, connected work policy, expense entry, service portal data upkeep).
  • Review and approve vacations while maintaining adequate customer support coverage.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives for the business unit and own actions required to meet plan objectives.
  • Maintain key relationships with clients and principals to support the business unit.
  • Mentor direct-report IT/OT team members on technical, interpersonal, and business aspects.
  • Provide uncompromising quality in all work processes within the designated area of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.
  • Some work after hours—evenings, weekends—may be required.
  • Travel: 25–35% primarily within the New York and New England area.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Systems, Automation, Bioengineering, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of applicable experience.
  • Excellence in written and oral communication skills, proficiency with AI fundamentals, and strong interpersonal skills within and across work functions.
  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written skills to effectively communicate.
  • Fundamentals of delegation and achieving results through others.
  • Ability to get along well with others; customer-first attitude.
  • Appropriate and professional demeanor and appearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful experience with service technical leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Work experience in electrical and computer systems, automation field services, software/hardware upgrades, networking, or complementary areas.
  • Broad knowledge of the latest technology within the DeltaV automation platform, including methodologies for planned maintenance, performance services, sub-system troubleshooting, computer fundamentals, networking fundamentals, and system reliability activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a project plan while working on a team.
  • Knowledge of the Emerson Automation Solutions organization and its offerings.
  • Basic understanding of customers’ organization, business models, and processes.

Pay

This position offers a base salary range of $115,000 to $130,000, based on experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for a variable compensation plan. The posted salary range represents a good-faith estimate of expected compensation at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs.

Schedule

This position requires a full on-site presence 5 days per week during the first 4–6 months. Following that period, the role will be on-site four days per week, including Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with the fourth on-site day alternating between Tuesday or Friday depending on business needs.

Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
