IT - Senior Engineer
About the role
The Senior Engineer at Government Employees Health Association, Inc. (G.E.H.A) is responsible for overseeing Technology, Infrastructure, and Operations projects that significantly impact company security and operational efficiency. This role involves maintaining applications, systems, network, and telecommunications infrastructure to ensure operational integrity and adherence to best practices for operational availability.
Responsibilities
- Assists all teams with development and communication of strategic planning, project planning, and ongoing development of technological solutions.
- Provides third-tier support for Service Desk and Tier-2 support for System Administrators.
- Initiates projects and provides direction to management on technical matters.
- Identifies potential problems with delivery of operational services and develops solutions.
- Communicates with departmental personnel to ensure effective deployment of technologies.
- Serves as a technical resource for departmental and company-wide IT solutions.
- Maintains knowledge of associated company management software, architectures, telecommunication products and services.
- Monitors system stability and capacity in relation to licensed limits and assists in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for future infrastructure and telecommunications needs.
- Stays focused on key issues and efficient in time use. Produces the desired outcome with a minimum of effort.
- Able to estimate schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or qualified technology certifications in network, systems, or other related certifications.
- Four to eight years of experience implementing systems and networking environments in large managed environments, which may include virtualization, Citrix, Microsoft, telecommunications, call center environments, voice services and gateways, knowledge of storage area networking (SAN), servers with varying operating systems, and an understanding of the security, integrity, and safety of company operational efficiencies, plus other related products.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of current Microsoft operating environments, with an emphasis on M365 technologies, AVD, and Cloud PC technologies, Power Platform, and SharePoint Online.
- Effective verbal and written communications skills to consult with management, business partners, and vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in small, interactive teams of technical and non-technical associates.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities to successful completion.

Pay
The target hiring range for this position is $109,474 - $138,491 USD. At G.E.H.A, the current maximum salary for this role is $154,318 USD. While initial compensation may vary based on experience and qualifications, there is a path to work toward this top rate through performance and continued growth within the organization.
