Working Title: Supervising Registered Nurse (Safety) – Nursing Officer of the Day (NOD)
$11,074.00 - $13,867.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

About the role

The Supervising Registered Nurse (Safety) Nursing Officer of the Day (NOD) provides nursing leadership and operational oversight during evening shifts. In this role, you will support nursing staff, coordinate hospital operations, and ensure the delivery of safe, compassionate, high-quality patient care. Working closely with interdisciplinary teams, you will help create a safe and therapeutic environment for forensic psychiatric patients while supporting the mission of DSH-Napa.

Central Nursing Services (CNS) seeks a highly professional nursing leader who is reliable, dependable, and trustworthy, with strong supervisory and decision-making skills. The ideal candidate leads with integrity, exercises sound clinical judgment, communicates effectively, and builds collaborative relationships while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork. Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing leadership and operational oversight during evening shifts.
  • Support nursing staff and coordinate hospital operations.
  • Ensure delivery of safe, compassionate, high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create a safe and therapeutic environment for forensic psychiatric patients.
  • Exercise sound clinical judgment and effective communication.

Requirements

  • Complete the STD. 678 Employment Application, including duties performed and supervisor’s name and contact information.
  • Attach a copy of your California Registered Nurse license with your application.
  • Pass the Supervising Registered Nurse EX-4099 examination to obtain eligibility for the position.

Pay

$11,074.00 - $13,867.00 per month.

Schedule

Permanent, full-time position. Evening shifts.
