SUPERVISING PSYCHOLOGIST

About the role

The County of Los Angeles seeks a Supervising Psychologist to lead mental health treatment services, social and rehabilitation services, and consultation and education services. This role involves guiding staff, developing programs, and providing psychological services.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates the overall activities of the work unit and recommends changes.
• Works with public, private, and community organizations to achieve program goals.
• Designs and develops programs and strategies for positive outcomes.
• Provides testimony in legal proceedings related to psychological evaluations.
• Intervenes with clients to enhance their ability to participate in treatment.
• Participates in regional and countywide needs assessments and program planning.
• Serves as a mentor to psychology trainees and interns.

Requirements

• A doctorate degree in psychology, education with a specialization in counseling psychology, or an equivalent field from an accredited university.
• Two years of licensed experience in a mental health setting.
• A license to practice as a Psychologist issued by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Psychology.

Desirable Qualifications

• Additional experience beyond the minimum requirements.
