Position Highlights

• SHIFT: first shift, full-time, 40 hours per week.
• SCHEDULE: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
• LOCATIONS: Carl-Robinson Correction Institution (Enfield, CT) or MacDougall-Walker Correction Institution (Suffield, CT)
• NOTE: This is a Hazardous Duty position. Selected candidates will be required to attend a 3.5-week hazardous duty training at the Maloney Center for Training & Staff Development located in Cheshire, CT. See Selection Plan for more information.

Position Description

• Supervises a major independent clinical psychology program;
• Plans, develops, implements and coordinates new service programs;
• Schedules, assigns, oversees and reviews the work of staff;
• Provides staff training and assistance;
• Conducts performance evaluations;
• Determines priorities and plans program work;
• Establishes and maintains program procedures;
• Develops or makes recommendations on development of policies and standards;
• Acts as liaison with other operating units, agencies and outside officials regarding program policies and procedures;
• Selects and administers a variety of objective and projective psychodiagnostic tests;
• Evaluates individuals level of function and supervises staff in development of individualized treatment plans;
• Provides consultation on complex cases;
• Adds addresses professional and lay groups;
• May design, implement and direct psychological research programs;
• Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology and two (2) years of postdoctoral experience as a licensed clinical psychologist.
• Experience with forensic or justice involved clients.
• Experience supervising Psychologists and/or Licensed Mental Health professionals.
• Experience working within a bargaining unit workplace.
• Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a license to practice psychology in Connecticut.
