About the role

The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), Office of the Commissioner (OOC) is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor within the Evidence-Based Practices and Grants Division.

The role will work under the supervision of the Director of Program Management Services. Provide statewide monitoring of evidence-based and best practices in behavioral health services (mental health/substance use) such as Assertive Community Treatment (ACT); Conduct fidelity reviews of evidence-based models such as Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Supported Employment Services, Community Support Programs, co-occurring disorders services and psychiatric rehabilitation; Provide contract monitoring and oversight of peer-led and peer-run organizations; Monitor data reports and outcome measures; Assist with writing and submitting grant applications and contract monitoring, fiscal activities and budget development; Assist with the implementation of evidence-based practices, including training throughout the state within the DMHAS system of care.

  • Manage the staff and operations of a clinical program, discipline or specialized area;
  • Coordinate, plan and manage program activities;
  • Formulate program goals and objectives;
  • Develop or assist in the development and implementation of related policy;
  • Interpret and administer pertinent laws;
  • Prepare or assist in preparation of program budget;
  • Maintain contacts with individuals both within and outside of program who might impact on program activities;
  • Ensure program compliance with standards established by outside monitoring agencies;
  • Participate in grant and contract preparation and administration;
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance findings and recommendations;
  • Promote cultural diversity in workplace and ensure client/individuals rights;
  • Identify and plan training and development needs;
  • Analyze problems at program level and take appropriate action;
  • Initiate workforce planning and monitor staff utilization to meet identified goals;
  • Prepare or oversee preparation of reports;
  • Investigate and respond to critical incidents;
  • May represent program in grievances and hearings;
  • May perform clinical duties;
  • Perform related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of professional experience in behavioral health care and a Master’s degree in a clinical discipline, public health administration, health care administration or hospital administration.
  • Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been supervising professional staff.

Pay

Salary calculations are not necessarily comparable from one of the three branches of state government (i.e., Executive, Legislative, Judicial) to the other.

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
