SUPERVISING PSYCHIATRIC SOCIAL WORKER I

About the role
Under general direction, you will supervise Clinical Social Workers (Health Facility-Safety) who serve mentally and emotionally disturbed, mentally deficient, or physically disabled patients in a State institution, clinic, or assigned district. When no higher-level psychiatric social work supervisor is present, you will plan, organize, and direct the psychiatric social work program.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision to Clinical Social Workers working with mentally and emotionally disturbed, mentally deficient, or physically disabled patients.
- Plan, organize, and direct the psychiatric social work program in the absence of a higher-level supervisor.
- Perform related duties as required.
Pay
$8,881.00 - $11,048.00 per month. New State employees start at the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range when applicable.
Department Information
The Department of State Hospitals-Coalinga (DSH-Coalinga) opened in 2005 and treats forensically committed patients, primarily sexually violent predators. It is a self-contained psychiatric hospital with a security perimeter. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) provides perimeter security and transports patients to outside medical services and court proceedings.
