About the Role

Seeking an experienced Supervising Immigration Attorney to lead the legal department and provide immigration representation to refugees and immigrant communities. The role combines legal casework, team supervision, pro bono attorney mentoring, training, and program management.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff.
  • Manage caseloads and review legal work for quality and compliance.
  • Represent clients before USCIS and Immigration Court.
  • Handle humanitarian and family-based immigration matters.
  • Mentor and train pro bono attorneys.
  • Monitor case deadlines and legal compliance.
  • Support grant reporting, program development, and legal trainings.
  • Maintain a limited individual caseload.

Requirements

  • JD from a U.S. ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active U.S. State Bar license in good standing.
  • 3+ years of immigration law experience.
  • Experience with USCIS/affirmative immigration matters.
  • Experience with Asylum, VAWA, U/T Visas, TPS, EAD, Adjustment of Status, or Naturalization.
  • Immigration Court/defensive representation experience.
  • Previous supervisory or mentoring experience.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Experience working with immigrant/refugee or underserved communities.
  • Valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and insurance.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NY Bar admission.
  • Nonprofit/legal aid experience.
  • Pro bono program experience.
  • Immigration law training/presentation experience.
  • Grant reporting/program management experience.
  • Case management database experience.

Monday–Friday, Day Shift.
