Supervising Deputy Coroner (Open & Promotional)

About the role

The County of San Mateo Coroner's Office is seeking a dedicated and compassionate candidate to fill the role of Supervising Deputy Coroner. This position requires applicants to have graduated from high school or possess an educational equivalent, and to hold a California Basic POST Certificate or higher. The Supervising Deputy Coroner position involves shift work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays, and may require on-call availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, courteous, and respectful services to the public and colleagues.
• Support and lead Deputy Coroners through complex or difficult cases.
• Lead teams to achieve important organizational goals while modeling enthusiasm, competence, and commitment to the organization's mission and vision.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• California Basic POST Certificate or higher.
• Willingness to commit to shift work and on-call availability.
