Superintendent- Service (Chicago)
Essential Job Functions
- Visits job sites and performs quality audits to ensure route work is completed efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Performs NIM job audit within 15 days of construction and modernization turnovers, identifying issues affecting equipment reliability and providing feedback and recommendations.
- Aids mechanics with jobs, including trouble-shooting and on-the-job training.
- Reviews route profitability and call-backs using accounting reports, providing feedback and data to management.
- Takes part in and assists with safety training.
- Provides technical input to sales staff on repair work scope and materials needed, calculates labor and material costs, and provides feedback to service manager before field evaluations and performance ratings.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local elevator industry code requirements.
- Maintains strong familiarity with company products through training classes, factory equipment updates, and supplier goods, and works with regional field trainers.
- Determines materials needed for service, repairs, and orders parts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Thorough knowledge of the construction industry and general management skills; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to write reports, contracts, and business correspondence.
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from management and customers.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicles Report.
