JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking all experience levels for the position of Superintendent. Your responsibilities will include managing the entire construction project from mobilization to completion, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety, quality, and staffing/subcontractor requirements.

What You Will Do

• Study specifications and contracts to plan construction procedures, ensuring start and finish times, safety, quality, and staffing/subcontractor requirements for each phase of construction.
• Coordinate expediting lists with the Project Engineer for procurement materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Coordinate subcontractors’ work in proper sequence while keeping the overall scheduled completion on track. Conduct weekly subcontractor meetings and review 3-week short interval schedules, current quality management activities, and overall jobsite safety.
• Confer with and direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
• Obtain and monitor all permits, building certificates, and city inspections. Familiarize yourself with all local building enforcement procedures, in accordance with SOP.
• Communicate with General Superintendents, supervisory, and engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers of materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
• Enforce the organization’s Safety policies in accordance with SOP and establish a climate that emphasizes safety on the job.
• Show sound and accurate judgment. Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship and materials conform to specifications and adhere to construction schedules.
• Prepare or review reports on progress, materials used, and costs, punch lists, daily diaries, billing sheets, pictures, and adjust work schedules as indicated by reports.
• Coordinate and approve all time and material costs with various sub-contractors.
• Maintain daily paperwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need

• At least 5 years of experience supervising all phases of ground-up multi-million dollar commercial construction projects with a general contractor.
• Experience overseeing projects with a value of $10-$20M in the retail sector.
• Willingness to travel as business requires.
• Highly motivated individual with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
• Professional with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Valid/Active Drivers License.
