About the role

TK Elevator is seeking an experienced Superintendent - Repair in Salt Lake City, UT to assist with repair operations, ensuring the repair department functions efficiently and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the branch’s daily repair operations run efficiently and cost-effectively, including reviewing and performing repair survey requests, ensuring repair booked status, scheduling repairs, completing requisitions for materials, and reviewing manpower needs.
  • Foster a culture of safety by administering the company safety program and training, performing safety audits, and emphasizing safety to all employees.
  • Participate in weekly repair backlog meetings with regional repair coordinators to update schedules and system data.
  • Supervise repair mechanics and apprentices, perform job site audits, and manage performance and progressive discipline.
  • Use system reports to monitor repair job status, efficiencies, and completion.
  • Review repair billable and non-billable reports on a weekly basis.
  • Review TK Trip reports with mechanics and sales personnel.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of the overall market area, including sales backlog, service and repair volume, and market penetration.
  • Maintain strong familiarity with company products by attending training classes and reviewing factory equipment updates and supplier goods.
  • Understand TK Elevator’s regional and company mission, objectives, ethical standards, and code of conduct.
  • Stay up-to-date with all federal, state, and local elevator industry code requirements.
  • Assist accounts receivable with information regarding the collection of problem accounts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of the construction industry and general management skills, or a Bachelor’s degree, or two years of experience managing on a branch departmental level, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to write reports, contract proposals, and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and customers.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicles Report.
