Superintendent - Newark Air Train

About the role

The Superintendent will supervise construction efforts to ensure the project adheres to design, budget, and schedule. They will assume responsibility for planning, coordinating, and supervising onsite functions such as scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and compliance with contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
• Assume responsibility for planning, coordinating and supervising onsite functions (scheduling, subcontractor coordination, etc.).
• Assume responsibility for compliance of crafts and subcontractors with contract documents, efficient use of materials & equipment, and timely performance of the project schedule.
• Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
• Aid project management in developing, project schedule, site logistics plan and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
• Cover Site Specific Safety Plan.
• Cover coordination with on-site Owner employees.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Requirements

• 20 years of supervisory field experience with large heavy civil infrastructure construction projects valued at $200 million or more.
• Minimum of 10 years construction superintendent and/or craft supervision experience in new building and/or structure construction including, piles, concrete and structural steel.
• Knowledge, skills and experience with U.S. construction methods, techniques, and standards.
• Highschool diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Experience with City, State, Federal Government Clients preferred.
• Knowledge of contract management and familiarity with local trade/unions/craft.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Procure, Bluebeam, HCSS Heavy bid.
• OSHA certification, First Aid Certs.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.

Qualifications

Highschool diploma or GED preferred but not required.
