This is an exciting, long-term career opportunity for someone with experience leading scopes or site logistics on ground-up data center projects of 100K sq ft and above.
About the Role
You will manage the construction and administrative activities associated with field operations from day one, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to specifications.
Responsibilities
- Attend the post-award review meeting to receive project information and details for preplanning before construction.
- Participate with the project manager in preparing a schedule of construction activities, their sequence, the organization structure, staff selection, and equipment requirements.
- Direct and control the total construction project to meet specifications, timelines, and budget while producing expected profit.
- Assist the project manager/engineer with duties including prompt shipment of materials, obtaining approvals for shop drawings, and material samples.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities to integrate their work with project schedules and progress.
- Inform all supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes.
- Assist in preparing job progress and cost reports to accurately reflect actual costs.
- Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant reports and documents.
- Cooperate with the owner and their representatives, keeping them informed of construction progress.
- Maintain amicable cooperation with architects or owner representatives in the long-term interest of the company.
- Hold job site meetings with the project manager and regional manager.
- Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, plans, and potential cost/schedule issues.
- Maintain a daily diary to record significant project facts, events, conditions, and commitments.
- Direct adherence to the company’s safety program in all project phases and areas.
- Make decisions under tight deadlines and organize people, tools, and equipment to manage multiple activities.
- Demonstrate leadership skills, address challenges, direct others, and resolve conflict effectively.
- Evaluate project-related processes, implement improvements, and meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Act with integrity, supporting company values and maintaining a focus on customer requirements.
Requirements
- 1-5 years of construction experience as a superintendent on data center projects of at least 100K sq ft.
- Willingness to work on-site in Sullivan, Indiana, with travel stipends for home visits every other weekend.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling programs.
- Possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including standing/walking for long periods, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
