About the role

SES Electrical LLC is expanding its workforce and seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations for construction projects. The role involves ensuring effective coordination, schedule adherence, quality control, safety compliance, and successful execution of all project activities. This position is located in West Point, NY, with work performed throughout the continental United States. The ideal candidate is located in or near West Point, NY, but is willing and able to travel for work on future projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall quality and production of work and conformance to contract documents.
  • Manage and maintain all necessary planning, direction, coordination, and budgeting for project activities.
  • Coordinate and communicate with the Project Manager daily and with the Owner as necessary.
  • Manage subcontractor, contractor, owner, inspector, and AHJ field coordination daily.
  • Coordinate field staff with the Quality Control Manager and Site Safety and Health Officer.
  • Attend pre-construction conferences, pre-work meetings, and three-phase inspection meetings.
  • Manage and maintain weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Attend and participate in weekly Owner’s meetings.
  • Review and be knowledgeable of subcontractor’s subcontracted scope of work.
  • Manage all coordination necessary to complete scopes of work and prevent extra work or lost time.
  • Be familiar with the subcontractor’s budget and cost structure.
  • Review and be knowledgeable of the Baseline Project Schedule; provide input on dates, durations, and coordination monthly.
  • Prepare short-term detailed look-ahead schedules weekly.
  • Request, prepare, and hold coordination meetings as necessary to support the project schedule.
  • Coordinate monthly with subcontractors and Owner for progress billing.
  • Oversee quality control and safety programs.
  • Manage deliveries, staging, loading, and unloading.
  • Supervise equipment usage on site such as cranes or earth-moving equipment.
  • Ensure project conformance to national and/or local building codes.
  • Maintain accurate daily records.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in construction management for medical facilities.
  • QCM-C certification.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Proven experience as a Superintendent on similar federal projects.
  • Experience with Procore and RMS.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and PDF.

Preferred Qualifications

  • American Society for Healthcare Engineering (AHSE) Healthcare Construction Certificate (HCC) or the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) Certification.

Additional Requirements

  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results.
  • Obtain appropriate clearance levels required and be able to access military installations if applicable to the contract.

  • Walking over rough and uneven surfaces.
  • Routine lifting of up to 35 pounds.
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection.
  • Maintain a constant state of mental alertness.

Working Conditions

  • Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations.
  • Office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat, cold, and potentially wildlife.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
