Superintendent I - Manufacturing
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections support the manufacturing assembly lines.
- Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability.
- Cook up schedules, including three and six-week look-ahead schedules, ensuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met for the product being manufactured.
- Develop a site logistics plan and lead the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with partner superintendents.
- Conduct on-site orientations, pre-construction planning sessions, and plant site meetings.
- Supervise craft foremen, and crews; interview, hire, transfer, and dismiss craft team members as needed.
- Coach and mentor assistant superintendents, craft team members, and other team members.
- Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards, track work progress and craft productivity.
- Handle craft team member training and conduct career development discussions.
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
- Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and manage performance.
- Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members.
- Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions and seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures.
Qualifications
- Achieve an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or gain 10 years of trade experience.
- Minimum 5 years of construction management or manufacturing experience or related experience.
- Hold a current U.S. driver’s license.
- Show detail-oriented skills with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
- Have a basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
- Master Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Show a positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills.
- Display active listening skills and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback.

Pay
The base pay range for this role is $111,400 - $167,100. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
