They are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join their team and lead projects throughout the greater Chicago area. Position Overview

The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for the day-to-day field management of commercial construction projects, serving as the primary leader on site. The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing luxury retail, high-end hospitality, and other complex commercial interiors. This individual will coordinate subcontractors, vendors, project teams, and site activities while maintaining a strong focus on quality, schedule, safety, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects.
• Lead and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and field personnel.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are met.
• Monitor construction progress, quality, and workmanship.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, architects, engineers, owners, and other project stakeholders.
• Conduct regular site meetings and coordinate daily activities.
• Review plans, specifications, shop drawings, and project documents.
• Identify and resolve field issues and conflicts proactively.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
• Enforce company and OSHA safety standards and procedures.
• Track materials, deliveries, inspections, and site logistics.
• Assist with project closeout, punch lists, and turnover.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project partners.
• Represent the company professionally throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction superintendent experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading luxury retail construction projects.
• Proven hospitality construction experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with high-end commercial interiors, renovations, build-outs, or ground-up construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, sequencing, and scheduling.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong subcontractor management and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Strong understanding of OSHA and jobsite safety requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Proficiency with construction/project management software is a plus.
