Superintendent - Commercial Construction

Baldwin & Shell Construction Company is searching for an experienced Superintendent to join our Northwest Arkansas Team. The Superintendent plays a key management role in the organization and implementation of the project from start to finish in the field, reporting directly to the General Superintendent and working closely with the Project Management staff on all aspects of the project. Our Northwest Arkansas Team handles general commercial construction, construction management, and design-build delivery projects of all sizes throughout the region.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all job site activities.
• Track project progress and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and quality standards.
• Supervise staff, provide work direction, and give constructive feedback.
• Order appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenance.
• Resolve on-site issues and emergencies.
• Follow and enforce established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean jobsite.
• Complete projects on time and on budget.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 15 years of experience in a Superintendent role.
• At least five years of commercial construction experience as a Superintendent on multiple projects of at least $60M in size.
• Knowledge and understanding of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites.
• Ability to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
• In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Self-driven, motivated, and able to work effectively and independently.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to perform under pressure.
• Available to work overtime, possibly including weekends as needed.
• Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.
• This position is designated as safety-sensitive under the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593.
