Overview
The Douglas Company is a 100% employee-owned construction firm specializing in Senior Living and Multi-Family design and construction. Based in the Midwest and Southeast, they build projects across the eastern United States. They seek to hire individuals who take pride in enhancing people's lives through their work.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Covers all construction activities and supervises field personnel
- Ensures project completion on schedule and within budget
- Maintains quality workmanship and adherence to plans and specifications
- Manages material orders and schedules inspections
- Reviews and approves submittals and shop drawings
- Maintains positive relationships with various stakeholders
- Prepares and supervises the completion of a final punch list
- Promotes job site safety and collaborates with project participants
- Maintains an organized job site and construction office
- Ensures adherence to company safety policies
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of on-site lead Superintendent experience in the Construction Industry
- Ground-up construction experience required
- Healthcare experience preferred (Senior Living/Skilled Nursing/Assisted Living/Independent Living)
- Multi-Family experience preferred
- Strong conflict management and assertiveness skills
- Attention to detail and quality standards
- Physical demands include climbing stairs, walking, lifting up to 75 pounds, and negotiating work areas under construction
