About the role

Prime Controls, L.P., established in 2004, is a family-owned Systems Integration and I&C Construction firm focusing on industrial automation and control solutions. As a Main Automation Contractor, they offer comprehensive services supported by their size, expertise, and extensive experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and direct activities of electrical workers engaged in wiring, terminations, input-output connections, and troubleshooting on systems integration projects as well as electrical panels in the shop and the field.
  • Participate with management in preparing a project execution plan, including scheduling of construction activities, manpower, and construction equipment requirements.
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical raceways, wiring, PLC/RIO/LCP panels, and end devices based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Use Navisworks Simulate or similar programs to view 3D models and provide layout content to BIM modelers (a plus).
  • Confer with project managers and field crew leads to update schedules and status weekly.
  • Schedule and direct personnel and subcontractors engaged in electrical work, interpret specifications, and coordinate various construction phases to prevent delays.
  • Cookordinate production and attend meetings with other trades and the general contractor to resolve conflicts and provide updates on installation progress.
  • Aid field crew leads in creating weekly work plans for the current and upcoming weeks, ensuring resources and materials are available.
  • Review daily production reports submitted by field crew leads for accuracy and address any issues or concerns.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure compliance with quality specifications and adherence to schedules and housekeeping standards.
  • Work with the Quality Manager to ensure scopes are completed and ready for QAQC inspections.
  • Build and maintain relationships with owner's mechanical/electrical system owners, general contractor area superintendents, and other trades.
  • Purchase wiring, parts, and materials to meet project needs on time.
  • Train electricians and helpers to adhere to project requirements and schedules.
  • Utilize tools to track workforce, including production, checklists, punch lists, site inspections, and housekeeping.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of electrical field experience
  • Field Supervision experience

Preferred

  • OSHA 30 certification

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Physical activities may include standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, as well as the use of hands, arms, and voice communication. Some roles may require lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements may include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
