Superintendent

Essential Responsibilities

• Ensures projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes
• Leads the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversees incident investigations
• Reviews and updates construction schedules, addresses delays, and contributes to project schedules
• Estimates activity durations and materials for complex projects
• Works knowledge of reporting and tracking of financial aspects of the project
• Participates in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement and negotiations
• Sets priorities and allocates resources as needed for the entire field team
• Provides leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents

Qualifications

• One to three years of experience in a Telecommunications construction Superintendent role
• Experience in aerial and underground fiber instillation methods (Plow and Horizontal Directional Drill, HDD) is a plus
• Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
• Effective Communication and leadership skills
• Able to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors
• Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues
• Strong organizational and planning skills

Working Conditions

• This is a site-based position
• Travel required throughout multiple states (50-70% travel)
