Responsibilities
- Oversee all stages of project life cycle, including pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases.
- Manage and coordinate the activities of subcontractors, ensuring adherence to quality standards, work schedules, and budget.
- Utilize strategic planning skills to develop comprehensive project plans that include milestones, resources, costs, and timelines.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovative solutions and quality workmanship.
- Handle change orders effectively, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and budgets.
- Utilize negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Apply expertise in multi-family construction to ensure projects meet specific requirements and standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to guide construction activities.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks and overall project.
- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to maintain open communication, resolve issues, and ensure satisfaction upon project completion.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a Superintendent role in the construction industry.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, team leadership, construction management, change orders, negotiation, pre-construction, multi-family, subcontractor management, scheduling, and blueprint reading.
- Proven ability to manage and lead high-performing teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with team members, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficient in the use of construction management software and tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred, but not required.
- Certifications such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Construction Supervisor License (CSL), or similar are a plus.
- Must be willing to travel as needed to oversee construction projects.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
