Superintendent - Affordable Housing Construction

About the role

A rapidly growing Southern California General Contractor is seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to oversee the field execution of large-scale multifamily and affordable housing developments. This is an opportunity to join a builder with a strong pipeline of work and take ownership of projects ranging from podium developments and wrap-style communities to large-scale multifamily housing projects valued between $20M and $60M.

Responsibilities

• Lead all field operations from groundbreaking through project completion.
• Manage project schedules and drive daily production activities.
• Develop and maintain three-week look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate subcontractors and trade partners to ensure efficient workflow.
• Manage site logistics, sequencing, and project phasing.
• Lead subcontractor meetings and field coordination efforts.
• Maintain project quality standards and enforce safety requirements.

Profile

• Extensive experience as a Superintendent on multifamily construction projects.
• Proven background managing projects valued between $20M and $60M.
• Strong understanding of multifamily construction sequencing and project lifecycle management.
• Experience with affordable housing developments preferred.
• Experience leading podium, wrap, walk-up, or multi-building residential projects strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to independently run field operations.
• Strong scheduling and planning capabilities.
• Excellent subcontractor management and coordination skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Job Offer

• Base Salary: $150,000 - $170,000
• Target Bonus: Approximately 20% of Base Salary
