About the Role
The Superintendent ensures successful execution and management of dewatering, bypass pumping, or trenching projects. While the Project Manager holds ultimate responsibility for project completion—on-time, within budget, and without injury—the Superintendent serves as the primary field leader, driving projects from start to finish and acting as both a working team member and individual contributor to overall team success. The role prioritizes customer satisfaction while protecting the company’s best interests.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on all assigned field projects.
- Drive projects from start to finish, coordinating procurement and assignment of personnel and equipment.
- Verify strict adherence to all safety programs and requirements on all projects.
- Understand project expectations and contract requirements; ensure compliance, attend progress and critical issue meetings, prepare notes/reports, and escalate major issues to Branch leadership.
- Manage project progress during operational activities, collaborating with Crew Leaders to ensure proper execution of project specifications.
- Prepare and submit all daily progress reports (e.g., Driller Reports, Wellpoint Reports, Pump Water Reports).
- Identify opportunities to expand projects and up-sell customers on additional products or services as needs arise.
- Document and track project progress, changes, and issues; communicate updates to the Branch leadership team.
- Participate in estimating projects and developing proposals for specific customer requirements.
- Assist in the collection process as needed.
- Attend industry functions to promote the company’s image and recognition.
- Ensure proper documentation and agreements are executed and on file prior to beginning work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations.
- Leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, or technical manuals (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (preferred).
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet job requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Physical capability to perform intermittent periods of continuous exertion, including walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting heavy or awkward materials/equipment.
