Primary Objective
In broad terms, this position aims to safely operate heatset machinery to meet and exceed quality, production, and efficiency goals while functioning as a primary source of finish application in yarn conversion.
Safeguards and Responsibilities
- Safely operate heatset machinery to meet and exceed quality, production, and efficiency goals.
- Function as a primary source of finish application in yarn conversion resulting in resistance to wear, dimensional stability, and design meeting product specifications.
Major Functions and Scope
- Threads and repairs breakouts to maintain efficiency and meet production standards: Ensure consistent production output by addressing yarn breaks promptly.
- Proactively identifies yarn quality during production runs: Regularly inspect yarn quality to prevent defects and ensure product consistency.
- Selects and stages tubes for winder operation: Properly organize and prepare yarn tubes for efficient winding operations.
- Doffs off finished yarn packages as required: Remove completed yarn packages from machines to facilitate continuous production.
- Maintains daily production records: Keep accurate records of production activities to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Runs both creeling and winding side when needed: Switch between different roles as required to optimize workflow and meet production targets.
- Uses black light to check there are no mixes: Utilize visual inspection techniques to ensure yarn integrity and prevent contamination.
- Attends any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision: Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay updated on best practices and new technologies.
- Follows all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies: Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Performs general housekeeping duties as necessary: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area to support efficient operations.
- Performs other tasks assigned by management: Assist with additional duties as directed by supervisors to contribute to overall productivity.
Knowledge, Experience, Certifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Successful completion of all required on-the-job training, successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training, previous yarn or manufacturing experience preferred.
