Sunda Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Sunda-English phone interpreter to work remotely from home. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render accurate interpretations of conversations between Sunda and English speakers.
• Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation and enunciation.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during interpreting sessions.
• Adapt to any LLS technology enhancements to improve service delivery.
• Understand and follow protocol and terminology for various industries.
• Provide cultural sensitivity and handle sensitive topics with professionalism.

Requirements

• Fluency in Sunda and English with cultural competency.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to concentrate and remain neutral during interpreting sessions.
• At least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write Sunda and English.
• Access to a quiet space with a reliable internet connection.
• Basic computer skills and access to a personal device for business purposes.
