About the role

The SUN Teacher will deliver special education services based on an appropriate IEP. The teacher is responsible for delivering functional academic, social, behavioral, communication, and sensory programs that will lead towards an increase in independence in the core transition areas. The transition teacher is also responsible for needed assessment, diagnostic and due process services required by the federal and state standards.

Requirements

• Must be currently licensed by MDE in a special education teaching area
• ASD or DCD license preferred

Qualifications

• Must have current licensure from the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE)
• Special education teaching area preferred
• ASD or DCD license preferred

Skills

• Ability to work with students with unique needs
• Knowledge of special education teaching methods
• Experience with functional academic, social, behavioral, communication, and sensory programs
• Ability to provide assessment, diagnostic, and due process services
