Summer Youth Worker (Driving Required)

Summary/Primary Purpose

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of positive youth development outcomes.
• Promotes and stimulates youth participation and assists with registration of new members and participates in their program orientation.
• Provides guidance and role modeling to youth.
• Implements and administers programs, services and activities for youth in programming.
• Makes sure to monitor and evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure safety of youth and quality in programs.
• Prepares periodic activity reports.
• Aids in implementing outreach efforts to sustain and increase program membership and program participation.
• Aids in maintaining facility and equipment in good working order as well as ensuring all storage areas are kept orderly.
• As needed, reports all repairs, maintenance, and janitorial needs to

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Volunteers Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Previous work in related field with Children and Youth preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and

• Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10- key.
• Good attention to details and filing.
• Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.

• Must pass all applicable background checks.
• Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you
• Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
• Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.
• A commitment to actively participate in a Professional Development Plan.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Basic First Aid and CPR Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe).
