About the role

The Resource Teacher's Assistant position at Norman Public Schools requires the applicant to submit an OSBI background receipt prior to starting the position. The applicant is responsible for the $58.25 OSBI background fee.

Responsibilities

• Aid in instruction and activities as directed by the teacher.
• Supervise students in various settings including instructional, off-campus, and non-instructional activities.
• Serve as the primary source of information and assistance for substitute teachers.
• Assist with student behavior management strategies.
• Perform housekeeping duties to ensure classrooms are neat and clean.
• Operate various equipment and assist with compiling student work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Meets Tier 1 (Title 1) Paraprofessional Requirements.
• Holds an Oklahoma Special Education Paraprofessional Certificate or is willing to complete the Tier 2 (Special Education) Paraprofessional Requirements.
• Previous work or volunteer experience with children, teenagers, and clerical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• College hours helpful in meeting Tier 1 Paraprofessional Requirements.
