Responsibilities

• Staff Supervision & Leadership:
  • Supervise and support Camp Leaders in daily activities and operations.
  • Provide training, feedback, and support to staff and volunteers.
  • Delegate responsibilities to foster professional growth and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure cohesive teamwork and program delivery.
• Program Planning & Youth Engagement:
  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate unit activities based on participants’ interests and needs.
  • Develop inclusive curricula respecting cultural and developmental diversity.
• Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
  • Maintain facilities to meet YMCA and ACA safety and cleanliness standards.
• Administration & Communication:
  • Maintain accurate records, including attendance and emergency contacts.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, families, staff, and volunteers.
• Training & Professional Development:
  • Complete mandatory YMCA training before the first shift.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Lead and participate in physical activities (sports, crafts, games).
• Lift and carry equipment up to 25 pounds.
• Stand, walk, and remain actively engaged for extended periods.
• Respond quickly in emergencies or physically demanding situations.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $23.00 to $28.00, based on experience, qualifications, and alignment with industry benchmarks.
