About the role
Responsible for supervising campers and assisting in recreational activities.
Essential Duties
- Affixing assistance with recreational activities for children
- Leading small or large groups on crafts, games, and various other camp exercises
- Monitoring campers to identify and respond to unruly behavior or deviations from camp guidelines
- Fulfilling policies for the safety of campers, equipment, and personal property
- Acting as a role model for campers in activities requiring cleanliness, punctuality, and sportsmanship
- Mediating disputes or conflicts between campers to ensure a peaceful environment
- Participating in singing, storytelling, and sporting activities
Education and Training
Previous experience working with children preferred. Knowledge of sports, arts, or crafts is also necessary for the position.
Leadership Skill
Camp counselors are able to direct and coordinate children during summer camp trips.
Physical Demands
Frequently stands and uses hands; reaches with hands and arms, talks or hears; regularly walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches; frequently lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise
Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.

AED / First Aid Certified
