About the Internship Program

QTS' summer internship program provides first-hand experience into the fast-paced world of the data center industry through weekly lunch and learns, a comprehensive orientation program, site-based activities, socials, and volunteering events. Every intern is assigned initiatives tied to real QTS objectives, helping with anything pertaining to the whole life-cycle of a data center build and/or company operations.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the nature of a reporting and analytics team
  • Learn how to gather requirements for a particular reporting initiative
  • Understand customer needs
  • Establish a framework for how systems work and the relationship with data
  • Contextualize customer needs to available data
  • Work with team members to understand the nature of the work involved in reporting and analytics
  • Be open to learning about various systems and tools (i.e., Workday, Tableau, etc.)
  • Work with the team on delivering a report/analysis product during the internship

Basic Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, STEM, Data Science, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS's partner institutions or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school:
    • Auburn University
    • Kansas State University
    • Georgia State University
    • Southern Adventist University
    • Texas A&M University
    • University of Kansas
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in construction, finance, technology, HR, facilities engineering, or related industries
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment)

Pay

For candidates hired in Virginia, the estimated pay range is $19.50 – $29.82 per hour. The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is open to candidates outside of Virginia with compensation that aligns with the candidate's location.
