Internship Details

  • Program Timing: May 25 - July 30, 2027
  • 40 hours each week with a mix of in-office and remote working days
  • Project-based work
  • Market competitive hourly compensation and a sign-on bonus, as well as financial housing assistance for those who qualify
  • Successful interns will have the opportunity to return to Ally in an Early Talent Program or full-time role, or to a second internship, depending upon graduation timing

Areas of Opportunity

Business Intel - this group is involved with any data requests or projects in the insurance business. The team develops graphs, reports, dashboards, and presentations for all areas of the business and produces routine and ad hoc data extracts using SQL. They also identify data issues and conduct research to determine the best course of action for correction and identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. The team defines and test data requirements for all data related to insurance.

Advanced Analytics – Dealer Profitability - this group is responsible for modeling dealer profitability, progress towards profitability and management of catastrophic risk through modeling, tracking, reporting and ad-hoc analyses. Risk review is integrated throughout all of our insurance business processes and decisions, and this team provides critical analysis and support of effective business decisions in line with our risk appetite and tolerance levels.

Ally Dealership Insurance (ADI) Data - this group is responsible for managing and reconciling third party data sources, consolidating information into a usable format, and analyzing data for business use. The team supports ADI strategy by delivering results that promote data-driven decision making.

Account Service & Support – Sales Performance Analytics - this group is responsible for managing all aspects of data and reporting for insurance sales at Ally. The team oversees a cloud data platform, providing top-line reporting solutions, business intelligence analytics, and industry and competitor analysis to key stakeholders across Ally's auto-related business. The team's goal is to drive growth by transforming data into actionable insights that lead to measurable results. They work collaboratively to ensure that insights inform strategic decision-making and ultimately contribute to the success of the business.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be graduating between December 2027 and May 2029
  • Rising Junior or Senior (during the time of internship) in a full-time undergraduate program
  • Available for the full duration of the internship program
  • Major/Course of Study: Data Science, Computer Science, Information Science, Statistics, Economics or related field
  • Eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship from the company now or in the future
