Internship Details

  • Timing: May 25 – July 30, 2027
  • 40 hours each week with a mix of in-office and remote working days
  • Project-based work
  • Market competitive hourly compensation and a sign-on bonus, as well as financial housing assistance for those who qualify
  • Successful interns will have the opportunity to return to Ally in an Early Talent Program or full-time role, or to a second internship, depending upon graduation timing.

The Work Itself

Finance & Insurance (F&I) Products – this group is responsible for the development and management of Ally Insurance's F&I products. The team continually evaluates the marketplace to identify new, or updates to existing products to support F&I growth. The team will develop strategies to distribute those products and work with stakeholders to bring them to market.

Ally Dealership Insurance (ADI) Account Management – this team operates as a liaison between the dealer customer and our insurance carrier partners to analyze risk exposures and place accurate coverage. As a part of this team, Agency Strategy & Quality Assurance supports ADI, focusing on maintenance and communication of procedures, documentation requirement adherence, and Account Management performance reporting.

Ally Dealership Insurance (ADI) Underwriting – this team manages the inventory insurance for Ally. The team underwrites new and renewal business within our three inventory insurance programs, as well as managing a portion of our large group program. The team determines dealers risk eligibility, pricing and terms, along with answering coverage questions for our respective clients.

Business Line Risk Management – this team works across the Insurance business line to ensure that our risk appetite framework is being adhered to and report out to executive teams to promote risk culture and knowledge. We assist with governance tasks for the annual and ad-hoc revisions to our internal policies, procedures, standards and guidelines. We compile reporting for Insurance Committee and Board meetings. We monitor and assist teams with their process risks, controls and issues to make sure that leaders are aware of any risk that exists or needs escalation.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be graduating between December 2027 and May 2029
  • Rising Junior or Senior (during the time of internship) in a full-time undergraduate program
  • Available for the full duration of the internship program
  • Eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship from the company now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications

  • Major/Course of Study: Business, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrates Analytical Thinking, Collaboration, Learning Agility
