About the role

Join our team at FNB and make a difference for us and for your future. This internship is designed to give a college student hands-on experience working with a team of data and analytics engineers, while also providing exposure to broader financial services operations.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow Data and Analytics Engineers and participate in their duties and projects
  • Attend EDMG meetings such as code reviews, standardization, data governance, etc.
  • Analyze data
  • Create Spotfire visualizations
  • Utilize data virtualization tools
  • Write SQL scripts and queries
  • Participate in FNB-related events and trainings scheduled for all Summer Interns
  • Learn organizational structures, business etiquette, interpersonal/conflict resolution/sales/negotiation skills, industry information, products and services, and functional responsibilities for various Bank departments
  • Improve the quality of decision-making by performing appropriate and thorough analysis (e.g., pricing decisions, financial analysis, qualitative analysis, credit risk mitigation, identifying borrowing needs, project timelines, marketing plans)
  • Communicate information clearly and effectively in writing and orally, adapting style for one-on-one, small group, and large-group settings
  • Work well with others to achieve group goals; leverage team experiences to improve results; lead and follow effectively; voice dissent and ask difficult questions
  • Be accountable and responsible for the output of one’s effort; manage risk while pursuing innovative solutions; meet deadlines and produce quality output
  • Understand and follow all company policies and procedures; meet legal and regulatory requirements; complete required trainings on time
  • Develop and prioritize action steps; establish and communicate work plans to appropriate participants
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned
  • Serve as a risk manager by understanding, reporting, responding to, managing, and monitoring risk encountered daily

Requirements

  • Officially enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor’s program with a major in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Information Technology, or related field
  • High School diploma or GED
  • No prior professional experience required
