Data Engineering Intern, Summer 2027

About the role

Daikin offers a well‑established 11‑week summer internship program where students contribute to meaningful projects. The program emphasizes mentorship, training, and collaboration, encouraging interns to ask questions, challenge ideas, and think creatively. Responsibilities

• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability.
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of sources using SQL and AWS “big data” technologies.
• Work with stakeholders—including Executive, Manufacturing, Sales, and Marketing teams—to assist with data‑related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
• Collaborate with data and analytics experts to enhance functionality of data systems.
• Develop ways to improve data quality, reliability, and efficiency.
• Work on an individual project with your direct team, collaborate with other interns on a group project, network across functions and teams, and participate in social and team‑building activities.

Requirements

• Must not require sponsorship now or in the future.
• Graduation dates: December 2027 – May 2029.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
