About the role

Help individuals build a path to recovery with Valley's Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. The Substance Use Disorder Counselor (SUDC) provides recovery-focused treatment and support to individuals living with severe mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the SUDC delivers individual and group counseling, teaches behavior change and coping skills, and helps clients work toward long-term recovery, stability, and improved quality of life through community-based services.

Responsibilities

• Manages caseload including care plan and ASAM management
• Teaches groups and individual sessions utilizing evidence-based practices and behavior modification with the intention of full sobriety
• Collaborates with a team of multi-disciplinary mental health professionals
• Mentors clients who are in an intensive residential treatment program for substance abuse and mental health disorders
• Provides positive role-modeling and teaches social/behavioral skills
• Tracks and maintains client data

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work
• SUDC license in state of practice
• CPR certification (post hire)
• Valley de-escalation certification (post hire)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work

Pay

Range starts at $23.50/hour (pay is calculated based on years of licensed experience). Salary range: $23.50–$26.44.

Schedule

Monday – Friday | 9:00am – 5:00pm
