Position Overview
Suspected Substance Abuse Counselors will be responsible for assisting patients through medically assisted programs and providing techniques for managing opioid addiction. Counselors conduct both group and individual sessions to support crisis management and coping strategies. They also evaluate patients' progress during therapy.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
- Respond to patient grievances and complaints
- Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
- Involves families and significant others in patient's recovery process whenever possible
- Facilitates, establishes, and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
- Other related duties as determined by supervisor
Qualifications
- Must hold an ASUDC, CASUDC, CASUDC-I, SUDC, CSUDC, CSUD-I, LMHC, CMHC, LPS, LCSW, CSW, or SSW in the state of Utah
- Associates and/or bachelor’s in behavioral sciences
- Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
