About the role

The Substitute Teacher role at Renbrook School is designed to provide instruction, encourage student progress, and manage the learning environment in the absence of the full-time classroom teacher.

Responsibilities

• Implement existing lesson plans ensuring the integrity of academic time and motivating students to learn and participate
• Instruct students regarding a variety of classroom topics and courses of instruction
• Follow lesson plans as required by school policy
• Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students in accordance with the lesson plans
• Address the various learning styles of students accordingly
• Demonstrate professional practices in teaching
• Maintain classroom control that fosters a safe, positive environment for all students and staff

Requirements

• A college degree in teaching and learning or a related field
• 1-3 years experience working with children

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a college degree in teaching and learning or a related field, with 1-3 years experience working with children.
