About the role
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and adaptable High School Long-Term Substitute Teacher to join our vibrant community for the winter and spring terms. In this role, you will step into a supportive, collaborative classroom environment to ensure continuity of learning and personal growth for high school students. You will deliver engaging academic instruction while seamlessly integrating essential life skills and social-emotional support tailored to each student’s unique profile.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, engaging instruction across a variety of high school subject areas.
- Utilize meaningful assessments and student data to guide instructional planning and track progress.
- Creatively adapt curriculum materials, assignments, and teaching strategies to meet the diverse and individual learning needs of students with complex language and cognitive disabilities.
- Support the development of vital daily living, self-advocacy, and independence skills.
- Foster a safe, structured, and compassionate classroom culture that prioritizes students' emotional well-being and positive behavioral growth.
- Work proactively and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members, including fellow teachers, therapists, and residential staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in special education, General Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Demonstrated experience working with adolescents with learning disabilities, cognitive challenges, or language-based learning differences.
- Strong background in differentiated instruction and data-driven teaching practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- A patient, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to special education.

Pay
$35 to $45 per hour (commensurate with experience).
Schedule
- Duration: December 2026 – April 2027
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
