Long Term Substitute Teacher

About the Role

Mercy High School is a Catholic, all-girls high school rooted in the charism of the Sisters of Mercy. Guided by faith, compassion, and a commitment to justice, we educate young women to become confident leaders, critical thinkers, and women of conscience who use their gifts in service of others. We are seeking a passionate and student-centered Long-Term Substitute Teacher in Theology and/or Music for the 2026–2027 school year. The selected candidate will supplement and support music lessons as needed.

The position will start around October 1, 2026, and continue until approximately January 11, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons and assessments using provided curriculum and materials
• Maintain a structured, supportive, and respectful classroom environment
• Provide daily instruction, feedback, and classroom management
• Collaborate with department staff as needed
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
• Support the mission and values of Catholic education

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and/or teaching certificate
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Commitment to collaboration and student success
• Enthusiasm for fostering intellectual and personal growth within the Mercy tradition
