Substitute Teacher / Instructor
About the role
Educate students with special needs, ages 18+, in a 3- 4 month post-secondary certificate program.
Utilize lesson plans and activities for each class provided within the established and approved curriculum.
Assist with relaying classroom theory and supervising students at externship sites, assisting them to apply what was learned in the classroom.
Teaches curriculum related to entry-level culinary arts, material handler, animal care, healthcare operations, and or hospitality.
On occasion, financial literacy, social skills trainings and or daily life skills.
Administers assessments, assigns homework, and monitors lab participation.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred with a preference for credentials within Special Education, Vocational Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- Qualified instructors will meet the minimum state (FLDOE/CIE) educational requirements plus one year of job experience related to the content taught.
- It is preferred that classroom instructors have some experience demonstrating teaching and classroom management skills.
- Experience working with adults with disabilities is preferred.
- Valid FL driver’s license and successful level II background check, physical and drug screen.
- Must be 21 years older or older.
Qualifications

$19.00/hour
