Substitute Teacher for the 2026 - 2027 School Year

To be a Substitute Teacher with the Fairfield County ESC, you must have:
- A valid Professional Teaching or Substitute Teacher License (apply through the Ohio Department of Education)
- Transcripts showing a 4-year degree
- A Criminal Background Check (BCI and FBI, contact the office for an appointment or upload results with your application)
- Substitute Teacher Application filed annually through Applitrack
- Fraud Reporting Form filed annually (available on the Fairfield County ESC website and uploaded into your application)
- Temporary Non-Bachelor substitute teacher candidates returning must meet one of the following:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program leading to a bachelor's degree
- Provide evidence of completion of eight (8) hours of professional learning related to classroom teaching
