• Teacher Substitute (51-75 Days): $153.00/day
• Teacher Substitute (76+ Days): $188.00/day
• Teacher Substitute (21+ Days in Same Assignment): $233.00/day

Requirements

• PA Standard Teaching Application
• Copy of Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate
• Resume
• Two letters of Recommendation
• Official Transcripts (Undergraduate & Graduate)
• Clearances required to obtain employment:
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Child Abuse Clearance
  • FBI Criminal History Record
  • Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release (Act 168)
• Completed School Personnel Health Record (dated within 1 year of board approval), including TB test (dated within 3 months of board approval)

Process Overview

Upon receipt of the application by Human Resources, the substitute application is sent to a building principal. The principal then contacts the applicant to schedule an interview. A recommendation is sent back to Human Resources, and the application is processed. Act 168 forms are distributed, and all required documents, certificates, training, and the School Personnel Health Record are completed and collected. The substitute is then submitted for board approval. The applicant receives email notification after board approval with payroll forms to complete and return to Human Resources. Once all forms are returned, the substitute is activated in Aesop/Absence Management, and a brief orientation of the system is provided by Human Resources.
