Position Summary
Substitute teachers provide instructional support by maintaining a positive learning environment and implementing lesson plans in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The substitute is responsible for supervising students, maintaining classroom discipline, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Eighteen years of age or older.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate preferred but not required.
- Must successfully complete all district employment requirements.
- Must pass a criminal history background check and fingerprinting in accordance with Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children in an educational setting.
- Classroom management experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to different grade levels and subject areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and productive classroom environment.
- Supervise students throughout the instructional day.
- Take attendance and maintain accurate records as required.
- Follow all district policies, campus procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Report student concerns, behavioral issues, or emergencies to campus administration.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the campus administrator.

Employment Information
- Schedule: As needed.
- Salary: Per district substitute pay schedule.
- Location: Assigned campus within the district.
